Goals for 2022!

Happy New Year!

It’s been a while since we’ve talked. I took December off because the holidays were absurdly stressful. I was overworked and overwhelmed. But now it’s January. It’s a new year! And I am still a little overworked, but being overwhelmed? Well, I took some time for myself.

I didn’t write.

I didn’t read.

I just existed.

And now it’s 2022 and I’m ready to tackle the new year. Usually, I review my previous year of goals and habits, but honestly, I don’t think I followed through with enough of them to feel positive about it. So, let’s just start of clean.

Goals

My goals aren’t necessarily very concrete. They tend to be more of a direction for myself. I’ll say write 50k words but ultimately, if I write it’s enough.

2022 I have a few things I want to tackle that I didn’t get to accomplish this past year (with my surgery, job, family situation, etc). I’m also keeping it absurdly simple. I’ve been getting ahead of myself a lot these past few years and burnt myself right out.

Habits

I will admit. I’ve hit pretty close to rock bottom with my habits. I keep telling myself to eat better or exercise…but I have been overwhelmed since surgery and just dropped the ball. So this year, I’m going to push myself to get back on track while staying kind to myself. Better eating, slowly getting into exercising, and taking care of myself.

Don’t forget to take care of yourself too. It’s easy to set a thousand goals for the beginning of the year, and forget about the core person under all those goals. It’s like that old saying. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

Be Open to More

Goals are great to have, but being open to changes and adapting to them is part of life. This past year I didn’t accomplish a lot of my writing goals, and yet became a Twitch Affiliate! Use goals as a way to move forward while acknowledging that life is full of surprises.

Here’s to 2022 and accomplishing what we’ve never accomplished before!

Let me know in the comments below your goals you’d love to tackle. Maybe together we can reach our accomplishments.
