I have to be honest with you. I’m not very good at these. Introductions just always feel so awkward. There are usually handshakes and awkward smiles. I’m terrible at handshakes. My hands sweat too much.
I tend to feel better when I’m in the middle of something. When you’re no longer stuck on introductions and you feel comfortable. You can ask silly questions or express weird ideas because it’s okay. People know you. You have some authority behind your words and actions. You know people’s names.
But let me start with mine. You can call me Bee and I’m starting a blog.
I wish I could tell you I have a perfectly made up plan for this blog. But I don’t. I know I’m going to talk about writing, and books, and book cover designs. I love all three of those things–and frankly they pertain to the name of this blog.
But there will probably be one or two things that aren’t related to that. Or a thousand things unrelated. I will probably have semi-personal posts about my life on here: organizing my life, moving, and possibly movie reviews to name a few.
My marketing classes from college would frown upon the lack of focus, but we’re in the age of internet. Where fragmented ideas fit snuggly next to fragmented sentences.
Hopefully, I just don’t ramble too much…
If you are reading this, thank you. Also if you’re reading this, sorry.
This is the beginning. And hopefully I’ll never see the end. Endings are just as weird as introductions and far more sad.
So here’s to a new year, a new blog, and new memories. Thank you for coming. Please make yourself comfortable.
